Tahir Buruj Hifzul Quran Institute – Shahjalal Upashahar branch

The Tahir Buruj Hifzul Quran Institute is a non-profit initiative of the Tahir Buruj (“তাহির-বুরুজ”) Academy by Principal, Headmaster and Chairperson: Badrul Barbhuiya.

The Tahir Buruj Hifzul Quran Institute of Shahjalal Upashahar (TBHQI) is located in Room 2 of the Main campus (Tahir Buruj Academy, Rd No.5, H Block, Shahjalal Upashahar, Sylhet 3114, গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ).

The purpose of the TBHQI is to provide an Islamic international boarding educational institution for Bangladeshis around the world to come, live and learn about the Holy Quran, in the rural agriculture/farm lands of Bangladesh with accommodation and meals provided, and become a Hafiz (male) or Hafiza (female).

In addition to the Hifz program of the TBHQI, the TBHQI offers the opportunity to acquire a Tahir Buruj Diploma of General knowledge (TBDGK). A TBDGK will support students who wish to pursue further education (both local and overseas) or careers/employment. Questions and inquiries regarding the TBDGK can be sent to us <[email protected]> via e-mail. Recognition and acceptance of the TBDGK is supported by Ambassadors/Representatives of the TBHQI in Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Russian Federation, the European Union (EU), the State of Qatar, the Commonwealth of Australia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Nation of Brunei Darussalam and the United States of America.

For foreigners who wish to become students of the TBHQI:

Any person who wishes to be a student of the Tahir Buruj Hifzul Quran Institute will be provided with an URL to download a document/file titled and named ‘TBHQI Application form’ (the “Form”) as an Adobe PDF file. The Form will need to be completed, signed off and returned to an authorized representative of the TBHQI.

The Form will include details of the fees/payments that will need to be made by/for the student. The TBHQI and its partners/associates may, from time-to-time, approve requests for scholarships and sponsorships in which the student will receive a partial or full discount on the fees/payments that the student would have needed to pay otherwise. Several educational institutions, co-operatives, masjids and not-for-profit/charity organizations around Planet Earth provide programs and initiatives in which people are given the opportunity to study at the TBHQI for an entire or partial course/subject. Short-term and long-term student exchange programs are also applicable.

If you (or an entity that you represent e.g. a company/business) would like to sponsor a person to become a student of the TBHQI, please contact us <[email protected]> via e-mail or click here to make a charitable donation. The TBHQI generally selects airlines from the major alliances: Star Alliance, OneWorld and SkyTeam. Upon advice from the Tahir Buruj Executive Global Council and/or written request from a student, the TBHQI may select other airlines or other methods of transport (e.g. passenger ferry, helicopter, aerial tramway etc.).

Unless given an exception, all students of the TBHQI should reside within the accommodation provided by the TBHQI branch. Students of the TBHQI may, at additional cost, be given a choice of accommodation (e.g. between an in-campus dorm room and 5/5-star hotel/motel room). The TBHQI will provide its students with meals and essential utilities.
